Swedish ecological know-how
In the 1990s, Sweden was a candidate for the 2004 Olympics and developed an Olympic village project at the cutting edge of environmental innovation. Sweden did not win the competition but nevertheless decided to complete the project by creating the first eco-district in the city. It became Hammarby Sjöstad, a neighbourhood designed with the aim of reducing the environmental impacts by 50%. During the tour, the children will follow in the footsteps of Greta Thunberg and will discover all the solutions implemented to achieve this goal: the materials used, the natural energies used, the philosophy of the neighbourhood but also the underground water recovery and rubbish collection. The children will be observing and collecting clues to get an insight into the how the neighbourhood works.
