Visit Copenhagen through Danish design explained to children
Thanks to or because of IKEA, today’s children all have an idea of what Scandinavian design is, but can we go further than this standardized vision?
What is the origin of the design? How is this old ordinary chair different from the one created by Arne Jacobsen? But also, what do they have in common? What is the difference between Danish design and Swedish design? What is sustainable design? Is LEGO brick, well known to children, the product of Danish design and to what extent?
An educational presentation of Danish design
Using a pedagogical presentation of photos and key words that allow children to put their keen sense of observation to good use, we clear the ground before setting off to discover iconic works and objects of Danish design. Thanks to the perspicacity of the children, we’ll be investigating and questioning what is really design in what we see. We’ll be looking at shapes, colours and materials, with a special focus on LEGOs… Why this colour? This shape? This material? Children wonder, seek, understand…. and will remember!
This tour is designed for children from 7 to 77 years old!
The route, which will focus on the permanent exhibition of Danish exhibits, may vary depending on the age of the children.
